Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson watched in awe as Quinton de Kock delivered a stellar knock against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025 Match 6. In particular, de Kock played a sensational unbeaten innings of 97 off 61 balls, smashing eight fours and six sixes to guide Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to their first win of the season.

As a result of his brilliant performance, KKR comfortably chased down the target of 152 in just 17.3 overs and secured an emphatic eight-wicket victory.. Following their victory, Watson was full of praise for De Kock, saying that he was at his vintage best. The former all-rounder mentioned his pull shot against Jofra Archer and also said that his batting will give tremendous confidence to Kolkata.

“It was a dominant chase, and Quinton de Kock was simply outstanding. More importantly, that was classic de Kock—the brilliance we’ve witnessed for over a decade in the IPL and international cricket. Not only did he play his shots beautifully, but that pull shot over mid-wicket off Jofra Archer—wow—truly showed his sublime form.

Furthermore, this performance will give KKR immense confidence, knowing they have such explosive firepower in their middle order. Overall, it was a huge confidence-boosting win for KKR tonight,” Watson said on JioHotstar.

Quinton de Kock rightfully earned the Player of the Match award for his match-winning knock. Earlier, KKR made a key change, bringing in Moeen Ali for star all-rounder Sunil Narine after an injury sidelined Narine.Moeen made an immediate impact, extracting good turn from the Guwahati pitch and finishing with figures of 2/23 in four overs.

Varun Chakravarthy provided solid support, also taking 2/17 in his four-over spell, helping KKR restrict Rajasthan to 151/9 in 20 overs. Dhruv Jurel was the lone fighter for RR, scoring 33 off 28 balls. Up next, Kolkata will face Mumbai Indians on Monday, March 31, at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
