MRS. movie review

It is not easy to review MRS. is a movie which for the first time i fail to connect with or may be fail to connect with feeling it is trying to convey. Specially after surfacing of “Atul Subhash” story which took us by surprise (Surprised because for the first time a man dared to put his story of torture in public eye), Because men even they know they are being tortured don’t speak (reason: Society pressure of being strong and many more).

So, this movie just dropped on Zee5, and while it was enjoyable/ not enjoyable, it is complete scene-for-scene remake of the original “The Great Indian Kitchen,” which I had mixed feelings about gave me goose bumps. Performances are mind boggling but hated the situation because, unfortunately, it reflects a dark reality in our society. It is really good that films like this (social awareness films) are getting attention because our girls need to see this side too, to make fully informed decisions about Shadi(Marriage). I have a few thoughts I want to share…

MRS. movie review

All rosy and fairytale-like Marriage often feels like a dream come true, but that doesn’t last long.

A bahu is not like a beti! They are treated and behaved different.

It is difficult to share your story or confide any secret, it may end up in family chat or used in future for backlashing at you.

Even though the movie is good and shows a harsh reality of many households, this story is from women perspective is very emotional and depressing too.

We also have an alternate reality which anyone hardly talks about Men’s are also victims for as long as women’s were. But story like “Atul Subhash” hardly manages to reach the surface and then easily forgotten like nothing happened.

This movie might be a bit exaggerated because I honestly don’t think any girl would endure that much, but let’s be real things like this happen all the time. And it’s partly our fault because we get so caught up in weddings, rings, destinations, lehengas, and gifts that we forget about what lies ahead… damn!
